Kickstarter Update

Where Are We at With the Grand Mesa Men Series?

If you’ve been following along, you know how much I’ve poured into the Grand Mesa Men series. It’s been a journey—three years of writing, revising, and dreaming about these books—and now we’re almost at the finish line. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on where we are, what’s coming next, and what the publishing timeline looks like.

The Kickstarter Is Almost Ready!

I’m thrilled with how the Kickstarter is shaping up. All of the written content is complete, and now it’s time to bring the visuals to life!

  • Mariah, my amazing social media manager, is creating images for the campaign.

  • My best friend Alexys is working on video clips for each book—these are going to be such a fun way to bring the stories to life.

Once the visuals are finalized, I’ll submit the page for review and launch the pre-launch page. My goal is $750, which feels realistic for my first-ever Kickstarter. I’m sure there’s going to be a big learning curve, but I’m so excited to dive in.

💡 Pro tip: You can support the Kickstarter at any amount—even just $1 makes a difference! If you’re not a reader but still want to support me as an author, this is a great way to do so.

Three Years, Four Books

I’ve been writing the Grand Mesa Men series on and off for three years, though the bulk of my work has been in the last year and a half. It’s wild to think that I haven’t published a book since Encampment in 2021, and I’ll admit that gap has stressed me out at times.

But here’s the thing: I’m releasing FOUR books at once. If I’d published them one at a time, readers wouldn’t even have the fourth book yet! When I look at it that way, three years feels like a win.

Would I release an entire series this way again? Probably not. I miss the rhythm of publishing more frequently, and my next series will be released one book at a time. Still, I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built with Grand Mesa Men.

What’s Next?

My goal is to launch the Kickstarter in February 2025, but there are a few things that need to happen first:

  1. Final Proofreading – I’m scheduling one last proofreading pass to catch any typos and polish the manuscripts to perfection.

  2. Printing Preparation – I’m researching printing options to ensure the books are beautiful, with special editions available exclusively for Kickstarter backers. This includes paperbacks and hardbacks with some extra goodies.
